# MotherDuck

AccessOwl integrates with MotherDuck to provision and deprovision user access in your MotherDuck organization.

## Capabilities

> **Provisioning**
>
> AccessOwl creates user accounts with the specified roles/permissions during access requests.

> **Deprovisioning**
>
> AccessOwl removes members from your MotherDuck organization during access revocations.

## Prerequisites

* **Admin** access to your MotherDuck organization, so you can invite the integration account and make it an Admin.

## Setup

**1. Add MotherDuck in AccessOwl**

Either add a new application or open Applications and click the +-symbol, then continue.

**2. Invite the integration account and make it an Admin**

AccessOwl shows you the integration account's email address. In MotherDuck:

* Open **Settings**, then go to **Members**.
* Invite the integration account's email address.
* Once the integration account accepts the invite, change its role to **Admin**.

> [!NOTE]
>
> MotherDuck adds every invited member as **Explorer**, so you can only make the integration account an Admin after it accepts the invite. It needs the **Admin** role because, by default, only Admins can invite and remove members and change their roles.

## FAQ

> **AccessOwl asks me to give the integration account Admin permissions**
>
> The integration account joined your MotherDuck organization as **Explorer**. Change its role to **Admin** in MotherDuck, then click **Retry** on the MotherDuck application in AccessOwl.
