What is an Application Admin?
Each application in AccessOwl can have one or more Application Admins, ideally at least two for redundancy. You handle the operational side of the app:- Provisioning: when an access request is approved and the app is not provisioned automatically, you receive a task in Slack to create the account, with all the necessary details
- Deprovisioning: when access is revoked, you receive a task to remove the account
- You can also be assigned as an approver in the app’s approval workflows, if needed
Not every actual admin of the application needs to be assigned in AccessOwl. Only those who will actively handle provisioning tasks.
What you have access to
You can view the users and data of your administered applications in the AccessOwl web interface, and request or revoke access like any other user. The exact permissions are listed in the AccessOwl Roles matrix. What you’ll be asked to do
Your complete list of open provisioning tasks lives in Slack. You grant or reject each request there, and the requester is informed automatically once you’re done.Providing access to an application
