AccessOwl integrates with Notion to provision and deprovision user access in your Notion workspace, and to keep your list of Notion users and their permissions in sync.

Capabilities

Structure Sync

AccessOwl periodically syncs the permissions schema of an application.

User Sync

AccessOwl periodically syncs a list of users along with their assigned permissions.

Provisioning

AccessOwl creates user accounts with the specified permissions during access requests.

Deprovisioning

AccessOwl removes users from your Notion workspace during access revocations.

Prerequisites

  • Workspace Owner access to your Notion workspace, so you can assign the integration account as a Workspace Owner.

Setup

1

Add Notion in AccessOwl

Either add a new application or open Applications and click the +-symbol, then continue.
2

Assign the integration account as a Workspace Owner

Follow the setup instructions in AccessOwl and assign the integration account the Workspace Owner role in Notion.
The integration account is assigned as Workspace Owner because it needs to both add and remove members on your behalf. Lower roles like Membership Admin can add members but not remove them, which would prevent AccessOwl from completing deprovisioning.
If you plan to assign user access to closed teamspaces, ensure the integration account has access to them.

FAQ

Guest accounts cannot be provisioned through AccessOwl. They have to be created manually based on the Notion page you want to share.
AccessOwl cannot provision closed teamspaces. Ensure the integration account has access to all teamspaces you plan to provision access to.
