Capabilities
Provisioning
AccessOwl creates user accounts with the specified roles/permissions during access requests.
Deprovisioning
AccessOwl removes members from your Algolia account during access revocations.
Prerequisites
- Admin access to your Algolia account, so you can invite the integration account.
Setup
Add Algolia in AccessOwl
Either add a new application or open Applications and click the +-symbol, then continue.
Invite the integration account as Admin
AccessOwl shows you the integration account’s email address. In Algolia:
- Open your account Settings.
- Click Team.
- Click Add team member.
- Enter the integration account’s email address.
- Assign the permissions needed to manage team members.
- Click Add.
The integration account needs team management permissions because only accounts with those permissions can invite and remove members in Algolia. Without them, the integration account cannot provision or deprovision users.
FAQ
The user was provisioned but I can't see them in Algolia
The user was provisioned but I can't see them in Algolia
When AccessOwl provisions a user, Algolia sends them an invitation email. The user does not appear in your Team list as an active member until they accept that invitation. If a provisioning request shows as completed in AccessOwl but the user is not yet visible in Algolia, they have not accepted the invite yet.
