AccessOwl integrates with PostHog to provision and deprovision user access in your PostHog organization.

Capabilities

Provisioning

AccessOwl creates user accounts with the specified roles/permissions during access requests.

Deprovisioning

AccessOwl removes users from the PostHog organization during access revocations.

Prerequisites

  • Administrator or Owner access to your PostHog organization, so you can invite the integration account and promote it to Administrator.

Setup

Add PostHog in AccessOwl

Either add a new application or open Applications and click the +-symbol, then continue.

Invite the integration account

AccessOwl shows you the integration account’s email address. In PostHog:
  • Click your profile picture in the top right and select + Invite members.
  • Enter the integration account’s email address.
  • Send the invite.

Promote the integration account to Administrator

Once the invite is accepted:
  • Open Organization settings > Members.
  • Find the integration account.
  • Change the access level to Administrator.
The integration account needs Administrator because only Administrators and the Owner can manage members in a PostHog organization, including inviting and removing users. Each PostHog organization can only have one Owner, so the integration account is set up as Administrator.
