AccessOwl integrates with Deskbird to provision and deprovision user access in your Deskbird workspace.

AccessOwl creates user accounts with the specified roles/permissions during access requests.

Deprovisioning

AccessOwl deletes users from Deskbird during access revocations.

Prerequisites

  • Global Admin access to your Deskbird workspace, so you can invite the integration account.

Setup

Add Deskbird in AccessOwl

Either add a new application or open Applications and click the +-symbol, then continue.

Invite the integration account as Global Admin

AccessOwl shows you the integration account’s email address. In Deskbird:
  • Go to Admin > Users.
  • Click Invite users in the top right corner.
  • Enter the integration account’s email address.
  • Set the role to Global Admin.
  • Confirm the invite.
The integration account needs Global Admin because only Global Admins can invite new members, delete users, and manage settings across the entire Deskbird workspace. Lower roles such as Office Admin or Manager cannot perform these actions globally.

FAQ

When AccessOwl provisions a user, Deskbird sends them an invitation email. The user is not active in the workspace until they accept that invite. If a provisioning request shows as completed in AccessOwl but the user has not yet appeared, ask them to check their inbox for the Deskbird invite.
