Provisioning
AccessOwl creates user accounts with the specified roles/permissions during access requests.
Deprovisioning
AccessOwl removes members from the Clay workspace during access revocations.
Prerequisites
- Admin access to your Clay workspace, so you can invite the integration account.
Setup
Add Clay in AccessOwl
Either add a new application or open Applications and click the +-symbol, then continue.
Invite the integration account as Admin
AccessOwl shows you the integration account’s email address. In Clay:
- Go to Settings > Team.
- Click + Invite in the top-right corner.
- Enter the integration account’s email address.
- Set the role to Admin.
- Click Send invite.
The integration account needs Admin because only Admins can invite and remove team members and assign roles in Clay. Editors cannot manage team membership, so a lesser role would prevent AccessOwl from provisioning or deprovisioning users.

The user was provisioned but I can't see them in Clay
When AccessOwl provisions a user, the integration account sends them an invite email. The user only appears as an active member in your Clay workspace after they accept that invite. If a provisioning request shows as completed in AccessOwl but the user is not yet visible in Clay, they have not accepted the invite yet.
