Provisioning
AccessOwl creates user accounts with the specified roles/permissions during access requests.
Deprovisioning
AccessOwl removes members from your Upwork account during access revocations.
Prerequisites
- Account Admin access to your Upwork account, so you can invite the integration account.
Setup
Add Upwork in AccessOwl
Either add a new application or open Applications and click the +-symbol, then continue.
Invite the integration account as Account Admin
AccessOwl shows you the integration account’s email address. In Upwork:
- Open your account Settings and go to Members & Permissions.
- Invite a new user.
- Enter the integration account’s email address.
- Set the role to Account Admin.
- Send the invite.
The integration account needs the Account Admin role because only Account Admins can invite and remove team members and edit permissions. Roles such as Recruiter or Hiring Manager cannot manage team membership.

The user was provisioned but I can't see them in Upwork
When AccessOwl provisions a user, an invite email is sent to them. The user only appears as an active member of your Upwork account after they accept that invite. If a provisioning request shows as completed in AccessOwl but the user is not yet visible, they have not accepted the invite yet.
