AccessOwl integrates with Datadog to provision and deprovision user access in your Datadog organization, and to keep your list of Datadog users and their permissions in sync.

Capabilities

Provisioning

AccessOwl creates user accounts with the specified roles/permissions during access requests.

Deprovisioning

AccessOwl disables users in Datadog during access revocations.

User Sync

AccessOwl periodically syncs a list of users along with their assigned roles/permissions.

Prerequisites

  • Datadog Admin Role access to your Datadog organization, so you can invite the integration account.

Setup

Add Datadog in AccessOwl

Either add a new application or open Applications and click the +-symbol, then continue.

Invite the integration account with the Datadog Admin Role

AccessOwl shows you the integration account’s email address. In Datadog:
  • Go to Organization Settings and open the Users tab.
  • Click Invite Users (upper right).
  • Enter the integration account’s email address.
  • Assign the Datadog Admin Role.
  • Send the invite.
The integration account needs the Datadog Admin Role because only roles with the User Access Management permission can invite users and change their role. Users with the Invite User permission can only invite a user to roles they themselves hold, so the integration account must have the Datadog Admin Role to provision users at any role level.
