AccessOwl integrates with dbt Cloud to provision and deprovision user access in your dbt Cloud account.

Provisioning

AccessOwl creates user accounts with the specified roles/permissions during access requests.

Deprovisioning

AccessOwl deletes members from the dbt Cloud account during access revocations.

Prerequisites

  • Owner access to your dbt Cloud account, so you can invite the integration account.

Setup

Add dbt Cloud in AccessOwl

Either add a new application or open Applications and click the +-symbol, then continue.

Invite the integration account as Owner

AccessOwl shows you the integration account’s email address. In dbt Cloud:
  • Click your account name in the left side menu and select Account settings.
  • Under Settings, select Users.
  • Click Invite Users.
  • Enter the integration account’s email address in the Email Addresses field.
  • Set the License to Developer.
  • Assign the Owner group.
  • Click Send invitations.
The integration account requires a Developer license and Owner group membership. Owner is the top-level group in dbt Cloud with full access to invite, manage, and delete users across the account.
